Makoa and Erika were all snuggles and giggles at their Coronado Beach Engagement Session! Whether they were in the sand dunes or walking through the ocean waves, they were adorable! This is one of the reasons I love engagment sessions so much! I just love to see the love and intimacy between couples. This is incredibly heart warming and encouraging. Zack and I have been married for 28 years now and even though we are incredibly familiar with each other, we still love to snuggle and walk through the ocean together. Maybe not as many giggles as these two, but true commanionship!
These two love birds met at World Discipleship Summit when a mutual friend introduced them. Erika was going to be a campus intern at UCSD and Makoa was helping out with the campus. It’s amazing how things work out just perfectly! Anyone who spends two minutes with Erika and Makoa know that that meeting was definitely from God! These two are perfect together. We love to everything TOGETHER, from eating together, going out to restaurants, and eating food they’ve made together. They also love traveling and visiting new places together. Of course, the thing they love most is each other. They both appreciate how caring and serving each other is and how they both want to serve God.
When asked what they were most excited about at their wedding, Erika just replied, “Being married!” Makoa, however, was very specific. He was most excited to see Erika walk down the aisle. I must say, she was truly stunning as her mother walked her down the aisle at their Marina Village wedding. It was both Makoa and Erika walking down the aisle AFTER the wedding that was quite spectacular though! Makoa actually picked up his tiny bride and carried her down the aisle! Classic! You can see that moment here in their wedding blog!
Why Engagement Sessions are so important
Engagement sessions are so important for couples when working with their wedding photographers. For instance, Makoa and Erika’s Coronado Beach Engagement session “trained” them for their wedding day. During our time together they learned the core poses so that on their wedding day they were prepared and our limited time together for their portraits went very smoothly. The engagement session is also the perfect time for couples and their photographers to get acquainted. Since Zack and I spend more time with couples on their wedding days then they spend with each other, it’s so helpful that we get to know each other.
