Reid & Rachel – Catamaran Resort Wedding

On the day that we shot Reid and Rachel’s wedding, we had only been back from Hawaii for three weeks, but the Catamaran Resort made us feel like we were right back in the tropics! Reid and Rachel did such an excellent job picking out their venue! A little piece of the islands right here in San Diego, complete with an aviary of macaws, ponds full of koi, numerous palm trees and even a waterfall in the lobby. What a wonderful place for these two lovely people to start their married life! I am so grateful they love the beach! That means we got to enjoy the beach as well, and for the second time, since during their engagement session we shot in the sand dunes in Coronado. I just love San Diego!

Not only was the venue beautiful, but the bridal party, the family and the guests were extremely helpful and friendly, which made the day even that much more special for Zack, Angelica, and I. From the moment Zack and I walked into Rachel’s hotel suite, we felt very welcomed and appreciated. I especially felt right at home because Rachel is a teacher as well and so were several of the bridesmaids! We spoke the same language! These particular bridesmaids and the other wonderful friends that Rachel had as bridesmaids truly went above and beyond to make Rachel’s day special and to make sure she felt loved and taken care of. They worked so hard to take care of her, even bringing her snacks during cocktail hour while we were out on the sand taking their husband and wife portraits.

That was not the only moment during the wedding when it was so apparant Reid and Rachel are loved. Watching her mom and dad look at her so lovingly as her mom buttoned up her dress while she was getting ready and as her dad walked her down the aisle and then twirled her around the ballroom was so touching. The speeches that were given during the reception just confirmed even more how loved these two are. There was story after story telling of their impeccable characters and their fun-loving attitudes. What a pleasure for us to have the priveledge to stay by their sides as they celebrated one of the most important days of their lives. Congratulations Reid and Rachel, you are two very special individuals and together you shine even brighter.
