Patrick & Lucille – La Jolla Scripps Pier Engagement

Zack, Angelica and I are BEYOND excited for Patrick and Lucille’s La Jolla wedding at the beginning of December! Not only are they incredibly sweet and fun to work with, but their wedding is going to be a huge celebration! They’ve been working with Krista Burroughs from Paper Jewel Events and she always does a fabulous job. What is even more amazing is that they live in Manhattan and have been planning this wedding from the other side of the country! Now, that has not stopped them from creating a day that none of us are going to forget. They have left no stone unturned and have paid attention to every little detail! With the wedding at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and the reception at the Museum of Contemporary Art, we are all in for an absolute treat!

There are several other events these two lovely people are planning as well. True to who they are, they have not just focused on themselves when planning their festivities. With a welcome dinner the night before the wedding and a brunch the day after, they have set aside time to honor their family and friends. After getting to know Patrick and Lucille, this comes as no surprise! Every time we have gotten to spend time together, I have heard about the people whom they love. They have so many great stories! I especially love hearing about Lucille’s parents who met in Eastern Africa and knew each other for years before they realized that nothing in this world could keep them apart. I can’t wait to meet them next month! From everything I have heard, they are truly a spectacular couple.

Although Patrick and Lucille took engagement photos in New York, we wanted to get images with California vibe as well. What better place to do that than in the town where they are getting married. This La Jolla Scripps Pier engagement session is probably one of my all time favorites! I love to start under the pier before all of the other San Diego photographers show up, then head down to the cliffs because of the beautiful color. As the sun is setting, it looks amazing near the pier, so we headed back there for our final images. I couldn’t have had better models! Lucille has impeccable taste and I just LOVE the outfits she and Patrick wore. They look perfect with the color of the ocean. Add their wardrobe to their fun loving attitudes and their love for each other and it was perfect!
