Melanie – Bonita Sweet 16 Party

It was so evident how deeply Melanie is loved after I witnessed the time and effort that was put into her Sweet 16 Party! Between her parents, siblings, friends, her parent’s friends, and her cheer team, no stone was left unturned in the creation of this beautiful party! This was so obvious the moment I showed up at Mel’s house to capture images of her details and her prepping for her big day. Just look at the first image below! Wow! I have entered bridal suites that were not as perfectly styled and prepared! Mel and her mother did a spectacular job!

Not only had Mel’s mom, Heidi put her heart into her daughter’s Sweet 16 Party, but she also arranged for a portrait session at Summer’s Past Farms earlier in the month. We’re also going to do a “trash the dress” session in the near future. How fun! The effort to make this season of Mel’s life special was also shown throughout the day as we took portraits at Balboa Park and celebrated at the Bonita Golf Course in the evening. This celebration was particularly beautiful because ladies at Girly Girl Galas really did a spectacular job designing and executing an enchanted garden theme. The arch and the table settings they created were lovely and the CAKE from Flour Power just pushed it all over the top! Beautiful and tasty!

The most impressive part of this grand event was the quality of the individuals who were in attendance. The family was so thoughtful, encouraging, and helpful to Zack, Angelica, and myself. They were full of love all day long and did everything in their power to make sure Mel knew she was literally a princess. Mel’s dad is just so proud of his three girls and when he danced with his youngest daughter, I doubt there was a dry eye in the house. The tears didn’t stop there either as I saw many in the crowd wipe their eyes during the slideshow of Melanie’s life as well.

Not only does Mel have an incredible family, but she and her parents have a spectacular community surrounding them too. It was so apparent how connected and supportive they all are of one another. It appears that this is in no small part because many of these girls have been on a cometitive cheer team for a significant part of their lives. Our daughter Mackenzie competed on a dance team for many years, so I know the amount of time spent with those on your team. Although this can be such a competitive environment, it appeared that the love and support all young girls need was obviously a part of their culture. From where we photographers were standing, the night just seemed perfect and I doubt Mel could hav had more loved showered on her.
