This was such a special wedding! Zack, Angelica, and I have never shot anything quite like it and it was such an honor to be a part of this beautiful day in Point Loma at the Thursday Club. Mark and Loree are not in their twenties or early thirties like most of our couples, and honestly, that made this wedding much more relaxed and dignified. No bridesmaids or groomsmen, father-daughter or mother-son dances, garter or bouquet toss, or a giant wedding dress to trip over. Instead, these two replaced those traditions with special touches of their own and it was beautiful and personal.
I think one of those special touches that made everyone smile the most was the incorporation of the GRANDCHILDREN! Well, grandchild and great nieces and nephews. They were beyond adorable! They did such a fantastic job walking down the aisle, blowing bubbles, and scattering flower petals. Throughout the entire event they were amazingly well behaved and thoroughly committed to each other and to having a blast dancing the night away. Mark and Loree even had a teepee with books and other distractions for them but I think they were their own distractions and they played so well together. They were an absolute joy.
Now, add to those angelic little faces the beautiful backdrop of the Thursday Club in Point Loma! Located just a few blocks from Sunset Cliffs and sporting a fantastic view of the coastline! Mark and Loree love the beach so much(as can be seen in their engagement session as well) so this was the perfect location for their wedding. On top of that, Mark did a phenomenal job of adding to the lovely gardens at this venue by building a very unique “arch” for the ceremony with French doors with crystal doorknobs. They perfectly framed the view and were an amazing way for him to express his love for his beautiful bride.
The entire day was so full of love, joy, friendship, and family. I am sure Mark and Loree’s faces must have been sore the next day from all of the smiling! Their wedding was the perfect culmination of their “courtship,” engagement, and the blending of their two families and many friendships. As they raced off to their honeymoon in central California, everyone was thrilled for them to start this new life together, knowing they’d be back just in time for the Padres season opener! If you know Loree, this was not surprising!
