Earl and Madison’s wedding at the Coronado Cays Yacht Club was amazing! We were a little nervous because this was our first wedding when we had not done an engagement session with the bride and groom before the wedding. Zack and I feel engagement sessions are vital to a great wedding day. We get to know the couple during this time and we teach them the core poses. However, with Earl and Madison, it didn’t matter! This couple was so welcoming and fun to work with! Not only that, but they truly had a fabulous group of friends and a lovely family, so the day was a blast!
The Coronado Cays Yacht Club is beautifully situated on a peninsula jutting into the San Diego Bay. This makes for stunning views! Even with this gorgeous location, our favorite part of the day was the PEOPLE. Zack, Angelica, and I found our mouths hurting by the end of the night because we were smiling and laughing so much! The groomsmen especially made this day an absolute joy with their constant joking around. They even took time from their special day to get to know US!
One of the reasons the day ran so smoothly was because Madison and Earl chose a phenomenal coordinator! Krista from Paper Jewels Events has proven time after time that she is incredibly talented! Not only that, but she is kind, fun, and extremely organized. She truly cares about her clients and works diligently to make sure their special day is the best it can possibly be…and more!
If you are considering this venue for your wedding, you won’t be disappointed! The ceremony space is right on the water and there is a view all the way to the Coronado Bridge. Guests get to continue enjoying this view at cocktail hour which is often on the outside patio and the bar is close at hand. We were amazed at the transformation of the reception hall when white coverings went over all of the chairs and the chandaliers glowed.
Photographers have many options for beautiful photos at a Coronado Cays Yacht Club wedding. Having a first look on the pier is stunning! Capturing multiple angles of this part of the wedding day is also available if they bring a second shooter.
I think my favorite thing about this venue is its proximity to lovely beaches. There is a small little beach right on the bay, about a one minute drive from the Club. This can get crowded on the weekends, but a good photographer will know how to work that situation. Silver Strand Beach is about a 3-5 minute drive and is spectacular for sunset portraits! Couples can get whisked away for a short period of time to make sure to capture images during “golden hour.” If time permits, couples and photographers can even head to the Coronado Beach by the Hotel del Coronado. We have shot here many times and especially love the sand dunes.
The staff at this venue was very friendly and the food was wonderful! Add to that fact that there is a getting ready room for both the bride and the groom. Everything a couple and a photographer needs!
Madison’s mom was so encouraging and supportive throughout the entire day.
Madison’s Maid-of-Honor was incredibly sweet and their relationship was inspiring!
We always feel so honored to be a part of every wedding. Getting a backstage pass to heartwarming emotions never gets old!
This First Look on the pier by the Coronado Cays Yacht Club was one of our all-time favorites!
This is a perfect example of why I ALWAYS have a second shooter! Getting two angles truly gives each couple a better view of their wedding day.
These groomsmen kept us laughing all day!
Coronado Cays Yacht Club Wedding guests are treated to such a view!
One of the best parts of the day was watching Madison’s brother come down the aise! He threw flower pettle and handed out drinks! Hilarious!
I just LOVE this image that Angelica captured! She is so creative!
This little beach on the San Diego Bay is a two minute drive from the Coronado Cays Yacht Club.
This is why I always encourage brides to get a long veil! Stunning!
Earl and Madison danced through a good portion of their reception. They were so much fun!
During the reception we snuck away from the Coronado Cays Yacht Club and took a short drive to Silver Strand Beach.
When there is a stunning sunset, we pull out the flash and get some amazing shots!
The dancing at this wedding was so fun!
