Shooting a Presidio Park Proposal was so much fun! Alex is from Maine and had contacted me because he was planning to propose to Reese here in San Diego. We were both so excited! I had such a great time planning the when, where, and how Alex would pop the question. This is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer, working with clients to make their dreams come true. We worked it out so that Zack and I would be having a picnic close to our arranged meeting place. Then, when Alex brought Reese to exact spot, I took out my camera and captured Alex down on one knee and Reese overjoyed. So special!
This brought back memories of when Zack proposed to me 28.5 years ago! He did a spectacular job! I was sitting on a beach with a friend and then he rode up behind me on a horse, leading another horse. I was so surprised! We rode down the beach together in silence, because…what do you talk about?! At the end of the beach our friends had set up a table with food, music, flowers, and the RING! It was AMAZING! However, there were NO PICTURES of this wonderful event! The memories live in my mind but I have nothing to put in an album or show my children. Such a great example of why you should hire a professional photographer for your proposal! Here are some blogs to other proposals I have shot!
Shooting a Presidio Park Proposal
This is a truly lovely location. Situated above Old Town, in the heart of San Diego, the views are spectacular! However, my favorite part of the park is actually the presidio itself. As a history teacher, I suppose this makes sense. When San Diego was originally founded, the Spaniards built a mission, a town, and a presidio where the soldiers who protected everyone would be housed. Today it is a wonderful reminder of San Diego history and a stunning backdrop for beautifully creamy photographs!
The park surrounding the presidio also has huge oak trees, grass fields, and flowers during springtime. I especially love the image of Reese and Alex up in the tree! They were such good sports and so adventurous! The other pictures I loved, a part from those at the presidio, were of those in a little area on the corner of Presidio Drive and Cosoy Way. There is a covered archway here that makes for dreamy photos! Not only that but there are peppertrees here that light up when the sun hits them. Perfect for engagement photos!
