With COVID-19 creating a pandemic, Emma and Justin weren’t sure they would be able to have the wedding they had been dreaming of. As it stood for months, only 10 people at a time could gather together in LA at a time. That would cover them and their immediate family…and that would be IT! Their bridal party wasn’t even going to be able to attend. Heartbreaking! In steps Emma’s amazing mother and her best friend Sandi…and they planned a beautiful backyard wedding at her friend’s home in Bakersfield, where it was alright to have a larger gathering! They did a phenomenal job! The house and the backyard were absolutely perfect and he homeowners were so kind and generous and really went above and beyond to make everything look like the wedding was taking place at a resort.
Now, in full transparency, I don’t really think it mattered at all where they got married in Justin’s eyes. I am not sure he saw much of anything as soon as Emma began walking down the aisle. He melted. I have never seen a groom react quite like he did and it was immensely touching. Once he began to cry, so did the other groomsmen, the parents, the guests, everyone. His vows were filled with tears as well. Who can blame him?! The joy of marrying Emma Walker was overwhelming him and understandably so…as I have mentioned before, she is quite an amazing woman! Not only is she a nurse who takes care of very sick people in the hospital, no doubt tending to them with her glowing smile, but she generously gives her heart to everyone she meets. You won the lottery Justin…and you deserve it!
I think one of the best things about getting married in their friend’s backyard was the fact that everyone felt so comfortable and relaxed, grateful that they could all be together after months of quarantine. The dancing was fun, the toasts were touching, the food was great…and then the best part…Justin’s mother jumped in the pool! That followed with several of the bridal party, the home-owner, and many others joining them by doing flips into the pool, going down the slide, or just plain jumping right in! Crazy fun!
Exiting through a line of sparklers was the perfect end to the night. It was hilarious as Justin tucked his bride into the car and sped off, eager to get the honeymoon started! They left for Florida a few days later and their new life together. We all wish you much love and joy my friends! Congratulations and we love you!
