Mini session season is always so spectacular and this year it was over the top! I had a total of FOURTEEN mini sessions! Amazing! I am so grateful for each and every family who choose to take the time to immoralize this season of life in images and that they also chose to trust me to be a part of the process. What an honor!
Some of the families who stood, walked, sat, and snuggled in front of my lens this year were personal friends or family members. Some were acquaintances from teaching, photography, or from church, and some I was blessed to meet for the first time because they were referred by a friend. Numerous famiies were people that I had photographed before. All of them were cherished individuals and lovely human beings.
Often I get asked why I like being a photographer. It’s simple: I love PEOPLE! I also love to watch their relationships with each other and to occasionally get to know the fur babies they bring with them as well. What a joy it is to spend 20-30 minutes with family after family, appreciating and celebrating their similarities and their differences, their outfit choices, their funny little quirks, their unique giggles, and their love for each other.
I’ve watched several of these children grow up in front of my lens and I look forward each year to seeing them again and learning what is going on in their lives. I am especially encouraged when the little ones remember me and get excited to see their images on the back of my camera througout the session. Year after year the outfit choices are on point, family members are becoming expert models, they are nailing the poses that they feel the most comfortable with, and they seem to feel more and more relaxed in front on my camera.
So, that’s a wrap for this year! Thank you to everyone who supported by business this year and I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
