Coasterra Wedding | Miguel & Karla

This unforgettable Coasterra Wedding day began with bridal prep at the stunning Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, followed by a heartfelt ceremony at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Afterward, we explored the timeless beauty of Balboa Park for portraits. Then, they we celebratied the night away at an incredible Coasterra Wedding reception on the San Diego waterfront.

Karla would truly make an exceptional wedding planner! Despite the multiple locations involved, the entire day flowed seamlessly. There was an overwhelming sense of calm and joy from beginning to end of this day. This comes only from thoughtful planning (with the wonderful help of Barb’s Coordination) and two genuinely wonderful people. Zack and I were continually impressed throughout our journey with this couple. Kind, gracious, generous, and completely authentic — they are simply the kind of couple you wish could get married every year. (Although we’ll happily settle for future maternity sessions!)

What stood out most during this wedding was the authenticity Karla and Miguel brought to every moment. They weren’t afraid to openly express their love — for each other, their families, their friends, and everyone around them. Quick to laugh, quick to hug, quick to speak life and encouragement — they made every single person feel seen and valued, vendors included.

Their trust meant the world to me. They allowed me to guide location choices and creative direction throughout the day, remaining fully present and joyful in every moment. This was especially evident during portraits at Balboa Park, one of my favorite places to photograph in San Diego. The way they interacted — natural, affectionate, completely themselves — made capturing their love effortless.

Coasterra Wedding Reception

The Coasterra Wedding reception was both elegant and intimate, even with a generous guest list. Every detail was designed to create an unforgettable experience. Guests enjoyed a live violinist during cocktail hour and danced the night away to an energetic live band. The reception even included a caricature artist! The celebration was filled with surprises — from a T-shirt cannon toss to a fog cannon moment led by the groom! This kept the energy high and the smiles endless.

From start to finish, this Coasterra Wedding was a beautiful reflection of Karla and Miguel’s hearts: joyful, intentional, and overflowing with love. Every guest left feeling appreciated, celebrated, and deeply cared for. We felt so honored to have been part of such a spectacular day.
