I mentioned I grew up in San Diego which is such a blessing! What an amazing city we live in! It’s so wonderful that I didn’t want to leave after high school and went to UC San Diego. I started majoring in psychology but quickly realized that this was just not going to be for me. I literally looked at my transcript and decided that since I was getting A’s in all of my History classes that I should reconsider my major. But what to do with that? Either law school or getting a teaching credential. Since, my mom, dad, stepmom, 3 cousins, aunt, brother and great grandmother are/were teachers…it was the logical choice!
On my way to becoming a teacher I took a side trip and to go on a mission team to LA. I transferred up to UCLA and ended up graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. Then I headed up to Santa Barbara on another mission team and attended UCSB to attain my teaching credential. I didn’t realize it at the time, but this is where I met my husband! However, he had long hair, lots of tattoos and earings, so he didn’t seem like the guy I was going to marry at the time. We became best friends and 4 years later we got married!
I moved back to San Diego in 2003 to be closer to family. With 2 young girls I needed my mom! I also got a wonderful joy teaching 8th grade U.S. History at a middle school. So, we raised our family here in Chula Vista, near my family and back home in a beautiful city.
I started my photography business because I love taking pictures and friends actually started PAYING me to take their family images. Then more friends started asking me to take their pictures and here we are! I take family images, newborns, maternity, engagement, seniors and weddings. I just can’t decide what to specialize in! They are ALL fun!
