I have known part of this sweet family for years because my eldest daughter Mackenzie danced in the same company as Alexis. With every interaction I have ever had with Alexis’ immediate family they have always been so joyful, warm, and encouraging. Truly a pleasure to be around. So, meeting the FULL family just mulitiplied all of that awesomeness!

This shoot was especially fun because it ended up being a surprise gift for their lovely matriarch! We shot a little before she got there and then when she showed up she was so surprised that we were all waiting for her and that this session was a special present for her. What a wonderful way to celebrate grandma! I love this idea! Once I got to spend a little time with her, it was so obvious why her family loves her so much. She is so kind and inviting and it became so apparent that her wonderful children and grandchildren are just a reflection of who she is. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

I also was really touched by how much the cousins love each other and how they especially love their newest little cousin! Everyone wanted to hold him and show him off. There wasn’t a hint a jealousy that he was getting all of the attention. Truly a loving, thoughtful group of people. This is why I love this job so much! Working alongside families like this just brings joy to my heart!
